Stephen Douglas Moody

Stephen Douglas Moody, 57, of Candler, died Sunday, February 28, 2016. A native of Cabarrus Co., NC, he was a son of the late Rev. Bobby Wayne Moody and Doris Dennard Moody. Mr. Moody worked for Continental Teves, and he loved softball, fishing, and hunting. Surviving are his wife, Rebecca Lewis Moody; daughters, Christina Elaine Moody and fiance Edwige, and Melinda Gail Moody Reynolds and husband Douglas; son, Bobby Wayne Moody and wife Christina; grandchildren, Samuel, Travis, Wesley, Kaylin, Stephen, Alexander, and Jeremiah; sister, Kim Pertiller and husband Arthur; brothers, Marc Moody and wife Grace, and Chris Moody and wife Shelby; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Moody will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Hominy Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Joe Yelton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
