Stephen James Houston

Stephen James Houston, 73, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021.

Stephen was a son of the late Stephen and Marie DaPalma Houston. He was also preceded in death by his son, Chris Houston, and sister, Beth Willis.

Mr. Houston retired from Asheville Arthritis, where he worked for many years as a medical technologist. In his free time, he loved gardening and fishing. He was also a member of the Basilica of St. Lawrence. Stephen was well-liked by all who knew him and well-loved by those who knew him best.

Mr. Houston is survived by his wife, Betty Beatty Houston; grandson, Alex Houston; sister, Barbara Turner (Tommy), of Raleigh; brothers, John Houston (Barbara), of Oklahoma; Robert Houston (Cathy), of Raleigh, and George Houston; and many other friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Basilica of St. Lawrence, P.O. Box 1850, Asheville, NC 28802.
