Terence "Duane" Weaver

terence weaver

Terence “Duane” Weaver, who would have celebrated his 57th birthday on July 11th, left this earth tragically on his Harley on July 7, 2022.

Duane was a 1984 graduate of T.C. Roberson High School and was employed by Linamar of Arden. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Lee Weaver.

Left to miss him every single day is his son, Cody Weaver of Fletcher; daughter April Younce of Tennessee; his mother, Betty Weaver of Fletcher; sisters Pamela Weaver of Fletcher and Annette Melton of Asheville. Duane has two grandchildren, Greyson and Amelia, nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends who loved him as their brother, and a very special lady, Lynn Harvey. He also loved his Doberman, Zeva.

Duane was multi-talented – a mechanic, most recently proud of his 1982 Pontiac Prostreet TransAm and his 1986 Corvette. He also could construct any project he attempted. Duane loved his Harley and rode all his life.

Duane never had to convince anyone he was a Christian, he lived it every day. We can only imagine the look on his face when he met his Savior.

The service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. The family asks for fellow riders to escort our Duane’s body to the final resting place, Maney Branch Cemetery, Weaverville.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service on Thursday.

  1. Godspeed my classmate! We had many fun times together in auto mechanics class in “83 & ’84.

  2. I went into work Friday 7/8/22, 2nd shift and posted next to the time clock was the horrific announcement that we had lost Duane. I was totally stunned. My heart sank and I had to fight the tears welling up. I certainly did not know him well but I need not know anyone a long time nor well to know whether they are a good person or not. Duane was truly a good guy – always friendly, always kind. He was one of those whom I enjoyed seeing at work because of his positive countenance and ever helpful spirit. ‘Definitely a hard working man of heart. He will be greatly missed. My deepest, heartfelt condolences to his loved ones – his family, friends, acquaintances and co-workers. Our world has definitely lost another good soul. RIP Duane – thank you for your warm spirit and ever-present, always friendly smiles.

  19. Duane I can’t believe that your really gone. So many memories we’ve shared as husband and wife over the past 15 years. Our son Cody is missing his dad but facing life and your loss, as a man that you would be proud of. Never a dull moment at our home in Weaverville where friends and family would come to share our space, we always made a great team. When we moved to Fletcher to be close to your mother, I know how greatful you were that I was by your side, always willing to take a little burden from your busy day since you were always doing for others. Unfortunately life brings hard times interfering people and emotional upheavals that change the course of things and that only time can heal. We never got that time due to your passing. Although we were no longer together Duane, you’ll forever be a major part of my life as my Husband and Cody’s Father. May you Rest In Peace.
