Asheville Butterfly TrailTeresa Annette Thompson Messer, 61, of Candler, NC, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on November 6, 1963, to Henry and Dianne Thompson, Teresa was a lifelong resident of Candler and a woman deeply devoted to her family. She was a caring mother, proud grandmother, and a loyal friend to many. Teresa had a warm, generous spirit and a deep love for her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her world.
She is survived by her parents, Dianne and Henry Thompson; her three daughters, Wendy Barger (Josh), Jennifer Ingram (Justin), and Heather McMahan (John); and her beloved grandchildren: Baylee (Andrew), Kindyll, Riley, Destiny, Jocelynn, and Jake; and her great-grandchild, baby Welch to be. Teresa was preceded in death by her sister, Monica.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Avenue. A private burial will be held at a later date.
