Thelma Burns Lytle, 86, of Thelma Lane, Fairview, died Sunday, October 24, 2004, in a local hospital. Mrs. Lytle was born in Copper Hill, TN and was a daughter of the late John and Nora Folk Burns. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Columbus B. Lytle, a son, William Stanley Lytle, a daughter, Nora Lee Lytle Castillo, and a brother, Ernest Burns. She attended the Good Shepard Sisters Catholic School, but often attended Fairview Baptist Church. She was a loving, kind mother and grandmother as well as a good homemaker. She loved the Lord and was a good witness for the Lord. She was charitable and very giving to those less fortunate. She is survived by one son, Jeremiah “Jerry” Dwight Lytle, Sr. and his wife, Doris of Fairview; three daughters, Diana Lytle Burns and her husband, James of Arden, Susan Lytle Richards and her husband, Thomas of Fairview and Mary Lytle Mariut and her husband Dominic of Fletcher; ten grandchildren, Linda, Tony, Tim, Crystal, Denise, Dwight, Michelle, Tabitha, Charlene and Amanda; and thirteen great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue with Pastor Todd Royal officiating. Burial will follow in Cane Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home on Patton Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Mountain Region Office, 31 College Place, Suite D320, Asheville, 28801.
