He was born in Asheville, NC to the late Wymer and Peggy Butler Moss and is preceded in death by his sister Phyllis Elaine Moss of Asheville and brother Larry Reed of Nokesville, Virginia.
Tommy was raised in Asheville, NC and attended T.C. Robertson High School. He worked at Gerber Product Company as a Millwright for 27 years. He then moved to Eureka, Montana where he opened Northwest Sports Center. There he was in his element surrounded by snow capped mountains, crystal clear lakes and streams where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and outdoor sports. He made lifelong bonds and returned to Eureka many times to visit his friends and family.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patricia D. Moss. His children Tina Moss of Tryon and Tommy Moss and his wife Keely. His brother John Moss and wife Sheila of Mills River, a nephew Matthew Moss and wife Chari of Asheville and niece Chantel Riley of Manassas, Virginia. He was the world’s best Grandpa (Paw) aka The Mountain Man who shared stories and many tall tales of life out west to Daniel, Reagan and Lander they were the joy of his life and the main reason for his return to the area.
Tommy was loved by many and will be missed beyond words by his family.
Tommy was a simple man and never one to make a big to-do about himself. He was full of fun and mischief, and always ready for a laugh. At his request he wanted no services. So if you knew Tommy, take a moment to sit back and reflect on the great memories that you shared.
