I graduated from Tuscola in 1985. Coach Deweese was my baseball coach for four years. I think back on those days fondly. He was a great baseball coach. Not only was he my coach – he was a friend. I thought about him often and wondered how he was doing. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
Dear Bruce:
I just learned about Tim’s passing. I have been out of town in recent years and am very sorry I did not know sooner. My deepest sympathy to you and your family.

Mrs. Deweese, Bruce, Susie,
You will be in my thoughts and prayers as you face the
difficult days ahead. The service was very nice. Hoyt did
a great job describing Tim’s influence on the kids growing
up in Oakley. I have many fond memories of watching
Tim play basketball, and him being one of my library
assistants. (There was only 1 Tim). He was always a joy
to be around, a ready smile was his, and he was full of
pranks. I bet he and T.G. are talking baseball, and sports
now.
Love you all,
Jake
Susan and family, I am so sorry about your loss, my thoughts and prayers are with you and the girls. Susan, I love you and you know the Lord will give you the strength even though we don’t understand right now.
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Coach Deweese. I was @ Tuscola from 82′-85′. He was always a favorite for all the students. He was a great coach and friend and he left this world better than he found it. I have several fond memories of him. God bless the family and may he rest in peace.
ROSY MCBEE TOLD ME OF OUR FRIEND’S PASSING TODAY. HE WAS SO MUCH MORE THAN A CO-WORKER. HE WAS MY FRIEND WHO TOOK ME UNDER HIS WING & TAUGHT ME HOW TO TREAT PEOPLE, BEFORE HE EVER TAUGHT ME ABOUT SELLING CARS. HE WAS A TRUE GENTLEMAN TO ALL WHO CROSSED HIS PATH. WE’LL MEET IN HEAVEN ONE DAY, & WHAT A GRAND DAY THAT WILL BE. MY PRAYERS WILL BE WITH HIS FAMILY.

I READ THE FOLLOWING AT BOTH OF MY PARENTS FUNERALS — IT GAVE ME COMFORT AND I HOPE IT WILL DO THE SAME FOR YOU:
IF YOU LOVE ME — DO NOT WEEP
DEATH IS NOT IMPORTANT…
I HAVE SIMPLY PASSED TO THE OTHER SIDE.
I AM STILL MYSELF…YOU ARE STILL YOURSELF.
WHAT WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN, ONE FOR THE OTHER, WE ARE STILL.
YOU CAN CALL ME BY THE NAME THAT YOU HAVE ALWAYS CALLED ME.
SPEAK TO ME AS YOU HAVE ALWAYS DONE…
DON’T USE A DIFFERENT TONE OF VOICE.
DON’T BECOME SOLEMN OR SAD.
CONTINUE TO LAUGH AT ALL OF THE THINGS AT WHICH WE ALWAYS LAUGHED TOGETHER.
PRAY!! SMILE!!
THINK OF ME AND PRAY WITH ME.
MAKE SURE MY NAME IS SPOKEN AT HOME AS IT ALWAYS WAS;
WITH NO SPECIAL INFLECTION, WITH NO TRACES OF SADNESS.
LIFE IS STILL FILLED WITH ALL ITS MEANING.
IT IS STILL ALL THAT IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN.
NOTHING HAS BEEN LOST.
WHY SHOULD I BE ABSENT FROM YOUR THOUGHTS,
SIMPLY BECAUSE I AM ABSENT FROM YOUR VIEW.
I AM NOT FAR AWAY, JUST ON THE OTHER SIDE…
UNDERSTAND THAT ALL IS WELL.
YOU WILL EXPERIENCE MY HEART AGAIN.
YOU WILL ONCE MORE KNOW THAT TENDERNESS– NOW PURIFIED.
WIPE YOUR TEARS.
IF YOU LOVE ME, DO NOT WEEP.
—————ST. AUGUSTINE

Tim was a good friend to me in high school. We laughed and talked on the phone for hours. We rolled each others yards often. I was an A.C. Reynolds cheerleader and he was always a great athelete in many sports, especially basketball and baseball. He will be missed. My love to Suzy and Tim’s mom.
I taught Tim in the eighth grade at Oakley School. I remember that his family was always interested in the school and in their children. I remember him as an athletic boy and one of high morals and good character. – Dennis Brown

I graduated in 1985 from Tuscola High School. I had Mr. DeWeese for home room and gym class. My fondest memory of him was before the birth of his daughter, me and another classmate gave him a baby shower. He cried. I will never forget him. He was so fun to be around.

Dear Susie, I was saddened to read of Tim’s death. He seems so young. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. It was 34 years ago this weekend that my 11 years old sister died so I know what you are going through. I know this is a time when faith in God is the only thing that can carry you through. He was a very good man and coach. I enjoyed playing baseball for him. God Bless
Tim was my jv basketball coach and pe teacher at Tuscola, but I never really looked at him as a coach. He was a good friend. He would give you advice on anything you asked him about. We always talked about the Cleveland Browns and the Duke Blue Devils. He was a good man. May he rest in Peace.

I am truly sorry for your loss.Tim made many of my high school days more enjoyable. I will be praying for you all and his daughters.
Our prayers and thoughts are with you.
I was deeply saddened to hear about Tim’s untimely death. My dad, Wendell Bailey, who still lives in Oakley shared the news with me this past week-end. Tim and you folks have been in my thoughts and prayers since I heard the news. I graduated with Tim from Reynolds in ’73 and remember his great personality and tremendous athletic skills. May the Good Lord bless and keep you in your time of great sorrow.
I am so sorry to hear about Tim. I worked with him at Tuscola, he was always so pleasent. He will be sadly missed.

I went to school with Tim was am very sorry to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
Mr. DeWeese was a great teacher. He was an inspiration to all of his students, even us non-athletes.
We will miss him.
I played football at Tuscola ’82-85. Coach Deweese was a great coach and friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
Thanks Coach
My deepest sympathy goes out to the family of Coach Deweese. He was a great friend to all of us at Tuscola
I was very saddened to hear of Coach Deweese’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are certainly with his family… Coach served as my jv basketball coach in ’80. Although I was not blessed with the athleticism that most others possessed, Coach gave me the opportunity to participate, something for which I was – and am – grateful.
Thanks, Coach. And rest in peace.
to big al, susan, and larry, the passing of tim hurt my heart greatly, our friendship was beyond the diamond, beyond high school, even beyond college. he was a dear friend who i cared for and loved very much. i have so many great memories that i could fill a novel. he was a great dad and brother and son. to big al, i am so proud to know you and your fine family. you are a great mom and grand mother, you are the glue that keeps the family together…to susan, i know that you will truely miss tim and know that you were a great sister. to bruce, my best friend, i know that you will miss him greatly, bruce your are the leader of the family and your strength will keep the family strong…
whenever i am talking with someone about baseball i tell them about two people that i had the honor of playing with and playing for, tim and you, bruce…you showed me that hard work pays off both in baseball and especially in life. when i coached my daughters in softball, i ued the same coaching skills that you taught me. to work hard, to practice hard, to make practice mean somthing, and to have fun…i know that God is comforting tim now and forever, and even though i miss him very much, i envy him knowing that God is caring for him now…
god bless each one of you, love, john sherry, audrey and the girls, leigh. lynne. and susan
Paige, Lindsey and Lynn~
I love yall so much and I’m really sorry this had to happen. And if yall ever need me for ANYTHING im here. I didnt know your dad, but I know from information here and there that he was a good man, and he’ll always be watching down on you because there’s holes in the floor of Heaven. God Bless.
Tim and I became friends at WCU. He brought out the best in people, was quick to laugh and smile. I will remember him for his sensitivity, gift of teaching and love of his family. Even though we had not spoken recently, it breaks my heart to know that he is not on this earth. My prayers and thoughts are with you.
daddy-
i want you to know that you were the best daddy anyone could EVER ask for…you were a great help to me through my troubles. you talked to me anytime i ever needed you and you really listened to what i wanted to say. daddy, i am a better person because of you and i will never forget anything you said to me because those memories are what i will live with for the rest of my life. it hurts so much to know that you are gone and i never thought i could make without seeing your face or being able to hug you or talk to you and i really took for granted the time we had together but i will cherish the little time we did have and you will live in my heart forever. i truly do love you mor than life itself…
love you doughter,

I want to thank all the people
that posted a message on this site. Your memories of Tim are very special to his family. He had a special gift of being a people person. He could go into a room full of strangers and in fifteen minutes you would think he had known them for years. I still can’t believe he is gone. I guess I took it for granted that my baby brother would be with me in my old age. But even though losing him has put a hole in his families hearts we will always have the good memories of him that will be with us forever. Tim was always a special person with tremendous
tallents. He was a good son, brother and father. We all miss him everyday and will for the rest of our lives. I
would give anything to see his smile and hear that laugh again. But I know one day I will when I see him in heaven.
We love you Tim and miss you very much.
I express my condolences to the family, especially
Coach Deweese’s two daughters. I can tell they loved him very much. I played for Coach Deweese for 2 years at Tuscola. He gave me the oppurtunity to play as a Freshman and would come pick me up at the Junior High before games. He seemed to always have a view of the lighter side of things which had a calming affect before games. Coach Deweese gave me the oppurtunity to play highschool baseball for four years. He believed in me at a time when I needed encouragement. I went on to play in college four years and graduated from lawschool three years later. His inspiration and support were important to me and I will never forget that. I only hope that I can be an influence on others like he was to me. My deepest regrets.
I still miss you everyday Daddy.
Cross your fingers.
I love you always.

Brother I was thinking of you today just like
I do everyday and wishing you were here
with us. So much has happened since you
left us that I wish you could have shared
with your family and friends. Even though
I know you are in a better place it doesn’t
make the pain of losing you go away.
Life goes on I know but just not as good
as it would if you were still with us.
Just thinking about you, Mother and Daddy today! I know you and Daddy were happy she has joined you! Been keeping your grandson for several days. He was such a blessing to Mother and all of us. I can see a lot of you in him! Love!
Happy Fathers Day Daddy! I love you and miss you every day.
Tim, I’m an old man now, 58 if you can believe that! Your first year coaching baseball at Tuscola was my senior year ! I do wish you had been there all 4 years. I’m sure I would have turned out to be a better ball player. Thank you for what you did for me, having coach Haywood come down to see me a few games and allowing me the opportunity to go to WCU. I’m sorry that I haven’t written sooner. I’m sure your daughters loved you dearly. RIP ole friend.
I have fond memories of playing baseball with Tim at WCU. He was a great competitor and carried himself with class. I just heard this news. Sincere condolences to all of his family.
