Viola Hunter

Viola Hunter, 92, of Asheville, NC passed away Monday, May 12, 2025.

Born June 15, 1932 in Haywood Co., NC, Viola was a daughter of the late Jarvis and Katherine Conard Hunter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Milas West, Sr.; daughter, Ruby Evelyn “Evie” Ledford; and son, Eldon Lee “Tuby” Correll.

She is survived by her daughter, Leona West; sister, Vonetta Stillwell; brother, Douglas Hunter; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

The graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16, at Pisgah View Memorial Park, with The Rev. Jerry Wheeler officiating.

The family wishes to thank Rebecca Diane Ball, her loving granddaughter, for the care and compassion she showed to Viola.
