Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Jane and I were so sorry to hear about the death of your mother. She was a wonderful person who was always so kind to me. I’ll always have great memories of her, especially during my college years including the beach trips to Debordieu and Litchfield. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to your whole family. May God bless you all.

  2. Seeing Mrs. Lingerfelt’s obit brought back so many fond memories. Almost every Saturday we would go down to the hardware store. My father and Uncle traded with them exclusively and also made it a social occasion. We were allowed to play in the loft among the galvanized tubs and run our hands through the seed bins. She always gave us some sort of treat while there and had wonderful nicknames for us. Thank you for making such memories and touching our lives.

  3. Some of my fondest childhhod memories are the times I spent at Biltmore Hardware. In the Spring when we bought garden and flower seeds, all year long when we bought feed for our cattle, chickens and horses, and any other time we had general hardware needs we always went to Biltmore Hardware. My Dad summed the experience up best when he said: ‘You can trust Charlie and Ginnie Lingerfelt’ and that spoke volumes to him and taught me a tremendous lesson. That was 70 years ago and even after I left the mountains, my Dad still always did business with those whom he could trust. Charlie and Ginnie have left a tremendous legacy to their immediate family and many fond memories of those of us who knew them through Biltmore Hardware.

  4. Joe & Marie,
I was saddened to learn of your Mother’s passing. She was a very special woman. The hardware store & St. Lawrence and school at Gibbons Hall brough me different views of a strong, wonderful, generous & kind woman. My family will keep you in our prayers.

  5. Best wishes to all the Lingerfelts from the Warlick family. The good times will long be remembered.

  6. Chuck and Family:

So sorry to hear about your Mom. I remember those great ‘sleepovers’ in Kenilworth and all the good times we had growing up. ‘Ginnie’ will be missed.

  7. Words can’t cover or describe all the memories of being with Ginnie and the rest of the family at Kenilworth. I will never forget the generosity, love and care she gave me when I was in school with Ali forty something years ago. Love to all of the family.

  8. Marie and Joe,

Words can not express my deepest thoughts right now. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Please tell all of your family that I am praying for you all. I know she will be missed in so many ways.

  9. I just read that Mrs Lingerfelt passed away last July. I did not know, but I am saddend so much by reading this news. Mr and Mrs. Lingerfelt were both good friends for several years as I serviced their house for 13 years with termimix. He loved Mash the show and she loved talking about her children and their children. I remember one day she called me to find out what a noise was in the tv closet. As it turns out, I found a flying squirel in the closet in a shoe box. I caught it and took it away, as Mrs. was just as calm as could be.He never said a word, and she said oh my… Louis chasteen
