Virginia Rogers Owensby

Virginia Rogers Owensby, 91, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 12, 2018. Mrs. Owensby was born in Buncombe County to the late Louis and Gertrude Clayton Rogers. Mrs. Owensby had several jobs but she truly enjoyed her last job of 23 years at the Swannanoa Laundry. She loved all of the customers there and really enjoyed her co-worker Ila. She was a charter member of Arden Presbyterian Church and had attended the very first meeting that organized the new church. Mrs. Owensby is survived by a son, Ronald Connor of Fletcher; a daughter, Geraldine Connor Beddingfield and her husband, Tommy of Skyland; a grandson, Chris Beddingfield of Skyland and a granddaughter, Tracy Beddingfield of Knoxville, TN. The family of Mrs. Owensby will receive friends on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road in Arden. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 17 at 2:00 PM at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with Pastor Sam McLamb officiating.
