Von Eugene McFarlin, 80, of Candler, died Sunday, March 13, 2016.
A native of Buncombe Co., he was a son of the late Albert and Wilma Henson McFarlin.
Mr. McFarlin was a horse trainer for many years, and was the owner of an assisted living facility. He also served in the National Guard.
Surviving are his daughter, Melissa O'Kelley; fiance, Sharon Blankenship; and sister, Linda Best.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Ave.
Interment will follow at Snow Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
