W. Calvin Lance

Mr. Lance was born in Buncombe COunty and was retired after 45 years with Enka/BASF.  He was a Navy veteran of WW II and had participated in the Battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa.  He was a member of Abernethy United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jeanne C. Lance;  a daughter and her husband, Sherry & Frank Brookshire;   a son and his wife, Michael & Karen Lance;  two brothers, Gilbert H. Lance and Morris P. Lance;  a special son, and his wife, Gregpry & Teresa Turbyfill;  and grandchildren, Brandon L. and Joshua  H. Brookshire, Tashina Fulbright and Anna Turbyfill.
