W. Calvin Lance

July 14, 1923 ~ July 8, 1998

Graveside services for Calvin Lance will be at 11:00 am Friday, July 10, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Revs. Neils Larson and Patrick Welch officiating.

Mr. Lance was born in Buncombe COunty and was retired after 45 years with Enka/BASF. He was a Navy veteran of WW II and had participated in the Battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He was a member of Abernethy United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jeanne C. Lance; a daughter and her husband, Sherry & Frank Brookshire; a son and his wife, Michael & Karen Lance; two brothers, Gilbert H. Lance and Morris P. Lance; a special son, and his wife, Gregpry & Teresa Turbyfill; and grandchildren, Brandon L. and Joshua H. Brookshire, Tashina Fulbright and Anna Turbyfill.
