  5. Linda,Sherry,Regina,Cindy,James & family, Our families had lots of fun times for us all during our childhoods. Our families Myrtle Beach trip & the trouble we got into Cindy! do u recall having to run all the back from pier then to Van!!! And I think I got punished a bit too!!! Oh! When all us kids went over to Air Force base commas store….when Linda was driving us all in the company van and we pull up to guard at base for I.D. & pass entrance….the fun for that errand turned to be hilarious as guard read the advertisement on van with van full of girls and I think James too! Advertisement on the van was something like this ‘TEST OR GUESS’ got the looks & entered the base!!! Also our family trips to Lake James camping, campfire stories, boating, skiing for some, and some was a ski drag for the ones that didn’t want to let loose of ski rope!!! Oh! & our fun times inside your house sliding down the carpeted steps as if a sliding board & James was in on that too! We kept on sliding down the steps even though we still kept getting carpet burns on our arms! Also each pair of the wooden shoes you each had from Holland/Germany, was impressive to as a 4th grader! The last time I saw Wallace was several yrs ago. He & Linda were @ J&S,but I didn’t realize with his back to me that it was Wallace, after speaking to Linda and from our table is when I realized it was him. Thinking I would speak with him on our way back out, but he got gone before I realized. Time is so very precious for all. It’s never easy during this difficult time. Our thoughts & prayers for each & everyone of you during this time. Now he has joined Leila and two angel’s together with all the other angels, watching over all of you. Prayer’s are the best of everything. My thoughts to share with you, and I try to share often as possible is ‘just remember they haven’t left you, they have only changed locations’ and what a beautiful location it must be. Hugs to each of you. Jean & Charles Trantham

  9. Linda, Sherry, Regina, Cindy and James,
I was so sorry to learn of the loss of your dad. I did not get the news until Saturday and I wish I could have made the service.
Wallace was a very special friend. I remember the advice he gave me when I was ab out to enter the Army in 1968. He had the garage, on Deaverview, next door to mother’s house. I spent a lot time getting to know him and learning the ropes of Army life. I thought of him often over the years and wish I could have had one more of those long talks with him before he left this world for a better place. Watching the video brought back a lot of memories of your mother and seeing you kids as I remember you when he came back to Asheville following his career in the Army.
My thought and prayers are with each of you at this time.

    Sincerely,

    David King
    Gray Court, SC

  11. Dearest Linda, Sherry, Gina, Cindy and James . . .
I only found out about your dad’s passing a few days ago — have been out of town a lot — and was so saddened to hear. I have such fond memories of him and your mother and hanging around your house. There was always fun and activity and lots of life! Your dad’s calm demeanor was such a blessing and I always looked up to him. He truly led your family by example and was a dear, dear man. I wish I had been here to attend the service and hug you all. Some of my most special childhood memories include your family! He will be missed, but I am sure he is rejoicing that he is finally reunited with his special Leila!
