I was a secretary in the Detective Division of the Willingboro PD, and worked with Walt from 1980 until he retired from there. He was a good detective and easy to work with. My deepest sympathy to all of you.
I was so sorry to hear about Walt’s passing. He was a terrific person and a fine professional police officer who at all times gave his best to any job. He will be long remembered.
Sincerely,
Jerry Powell
Det. Sgt.
Monroe County Sheriff’s Office
I am a retired Police Chief from Mount Holly, New Jersey. Walt and I went to the Burlington County Police Academy together. We had a lot of contact over the years he served in Willingboro. He certified me as a Scuba Diver and we built up a friendship over the years. One of my fondest memories is the trip we took with an entire class of New Jersey scuba divers to the Florida Keys for a week and dove in open water for the first time, all under the guidance of Walt.
My sincere condolences to the family and friends, he was a good man.
Walt, you were a officer and a gentleman in the finest sense of the word. You will be missed.
Walt will be missed by those of us who were fortunate to know him and work with him during his distinguished career.
No one who was honored with his friendship will ever forget him.
Walt and I were colleagues and friends when we both worked at the Sheriff’s Office in the Keys. I’ll remember him not only as a fine officer, but as someone who was genuine, classy, and a committed friend.
The world is a poorer place without him.
I was deeply saddened to hear of Walt’s passing. He was a very good friend to me in my late teen years when I needed someone to talk to. I will always remember his smile and his kindness.
Peace
