Arden – Walter Eugene McFalls, 72, of Christ School Road, died Friday, December 30, 2005 at the home of his daughter. A native of Ridgecrest, he was the son of the late Horace and Mary Ann Morrow McFalls and husband of the late Peggy Jean Jenkins McFalls, who died in September 2005. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a retired employee of Kearfott Guidance and Navigation Corp. and a member of Calvary Episcopal Church. He is survived by his daughter, Beverly McFalls Carroll and her husband, Dr. Jim Carroll, of Bakersville; a sister, Josephine Langrehr of Piedmont, SC and two brothers, Elmer McFalls of Piedmont and Jerry McFalls of North Augusta, SC. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard conducted by the Rev. Victor Mansfield. The family will receive friends in the Old Well Hall following the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Mitchell County, P.O. Box 38, Spruce Pine, NC 28777 or to the Bakersville Volunteer Fire Department Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 351, Bakersville, NC 28705.
