Wayne E. King, Sr., 60, of 167 O’Donald Road, Asheville, died Sunday, April 16, 2006, at St. Joseph Campus, Mission Hospitals. Mr. King was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Bill and Lillie Nash King. He was an Army veteran of Vietnam and was a self-employed auto mechanic. He is survived by his wife, Donna Caldwell King; a daughter, Lisa Sharpe and her husband, Dwight, of Leicester; a son, Wayne E. King, Jr. and his wife, Tonia, of Asheville; four grandchildren, Ryan and Alex King and Hunter and Nicholas Sharpe; a sister, Billie Clark and her husband Gerald, and two brothers, Roger King and his wife, Alice, and David King and his wife, Shirley, all of Asheville. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Charles Worley and David King officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Kenny Worley, Jason Clark, Keith Caldwell, Adam Caldwell, Keith Jones and Cecil Owens. His family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
