Wayne Laughter, 76, of Church Road, died Sunday, March 25, 2012, at his home.
Mr. Laughter was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Filmore and Velma Owenby Laughter. He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Wade, Ray, Donna and Wanda.
Mr. Laughter worked for Beacon Mfg. Co. for 42 years and more recently for Highland Equipment Co.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Craig Laughter; a son, Bobby Laughter; a granddaughter, Samantha Laughter; sisters, Fay, Joyce and Doris, and a brother Dean.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. James Donati officiating. Burial will follow at Cane Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

I was surprized to hear of Mr. Laughters passing. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. Marie call me when you want to talk.

He was a good and kind neighbor to us for several years. We will always remember his sharing from his garden and his many acts of kindness. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Sorry we missed the services, as we only found out today. We will be in touch soon.
