Weldon E. Gaddy

A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Charles W. and Addie Knighten Gaddy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Flaville McNeil Gaddy who died in 1985; three brothers, Howard, Herman and Frank Gaddy, and three sisters, Thelma Gallamore, Maude Gallamore, and Viola Lance.

Mr. Gaddy was born and raised on the Biltmore Estate, served in the Army Air Corps during WW II, and retired in 1981 from Biltmore Dairies after 43 years service. He was a member of Abernethy United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Patricia G. Turpin and her husband Robert of Swannanoa; a son, Robert W. Gaddy of Asheville; and three grandchildren, Jim Turpin, April Smith and Kelly Hillier.

Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Monday, April 24, at Lewis Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. Patrick Welch and the Rev. Norman Sanders officiating.

His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Sunday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
