Willard William Wright, 93, of Leicester, died on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at his home.
A native of Buncombe Co., Mr. Wright was a son of the late Charles and Rena Alexander Wright.
Mr. Wright was a member of Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Eula Parham Wright; daughter, Pansy Wright Sluder and husband Paul, of Leicester; grandchildren, Jonathan Sluder and wife Teresa, and Anthony Sluder and fiancée Beth; and great-grandson, Russell Sluder.
A funeral service for Mr. Wright will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. David Scruggs, Ronnie Gillespie, and Jonathan Sluder officiating. Interment will follow in the church's cemetery.
His family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave.

We were saddened to hear of the loss of Willard. Memories of the love he showed everyone are treasures to carry with us always! May God’s love strengthen you in the coming days!
To the Family; I was sorry to hear of Willards death. I remember the good times we had when we were growing up and visiting with you with Bill and Louise Bruce. I will keep you in my prayers. Vickie
Sorry to hear about the passing of your husband, dad and grandpa. I alway’s remember him mowing the graveyard at Mt. View. I would come to clean the church and when he took a break we would set on the steps and talk. I am sure he will be missed by everyone who knew him. Love and Prayers!

My deep condolences goes out to the Wright family. The scripture at Rev 21:4 always helps to cheer me up and there it says that he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more. Jehovah promises this in the coming new world a paradise where there will be no more pain and suffering or death
