William "Bill" Albert Young

William "Bill" Albert Young, 88, of Asheville, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at his residence.
A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Ernest A. and Myrtle Rice Young. He worked in hardware sales and was a veteran of the US Army where he served in WWII and also the Korean War. He is preceded in death by sisters, Madeline Dotson, Alberta Deaver and Marie Volrath.
Survivors include his wife of forty-five years, Mildred Perkinson Young; his sons, Stan and Steve Young; step-son, Seth Weaver of Asheville, step-daughter, Dorothy Crowe all of Asheville; three grandchildren, Jackson, Emily and Julia; six step-grandchildren; 5 step great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Young of Pigeon Forge, TN and sister Geneva Sayles of Gatlinburg, TN.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road is assisting
the family.

He will be missed for he and David Weaver became good buddies during their time together. I was/am so thankful for he & Aunt Mildred looking after Dad’s house after his passing (3/16/2015)when I was not there… Mr. Bill & David looked over the houses with a watchful eye..He was a good, caring man… RIP Mr. Bill… I will miss our chats thru the woods…
