William “Bill” Thomas Wolfrey, 78, of Asheville, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Hibriten Mountain Nursing & Rehab in Lenoir, NC.

Born April 21, 1947 in Fredrick, Maryland, Bill was a son of the late William Thomas Wolfrey, Jr. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Sharon Eplee Wolfrey.

Mr. Wolfrey was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and retired from MB Haynes.

Surviving is his daughter, Tracy Miller (Isaac); sons, Tommy Wolfrey (Michelle) and Ronald “Ronnie” Wolfrey; grandchildren, Tyler, Cody, TJ, Jacob, and Paris (Josh); and great-grandchildren, Maximus and Riley.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with Pastor David Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Western Carolina State Veteran’s Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Georgetown Baptist Food Pantry, PO Box 448, Leicester, NC 28748.
