William Drake Bowles

William D. Bowles, 87, of Skyland, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017 in the Charles A. George VA Medical Center. A native of Asheville, Bill was a son of the late William Richard and Bessie Virginia Mayer Bowles and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Cunliffe and Nancy Kaltenbach. Bill served in the US Navy and was a retired printer. Bill is survived by his son, Dale A. Bowles of Boise, Idaho; a sister, Lillian Bowles of Skyland and two brothers, Charles and Jack Bowles. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 26 at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard in Fletcher. Groce Funeral Home at Julian is assisting the family.
