William G. Davis

Mr. Davis was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County and was a son of the late Frank and Lowdemi Hensley Davis. He was an Army veteran and served at Normandy during WW II. He was retired after 27 years with Public Service Gas of NC and was a member of Newbridge Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Katherine Murphy Davis; a son and daughter-in-law, Jan and Ann Davis of Asheville, and a grandson, Richard Davis of Wilmington.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Hopkins and the Rev. Clark Henderson officiating. Graveside rites will be 12:30 pm at Newdale Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Newdale, NC.

His family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the funeral home and request memorials be made to Newbridge Baptist Church, 199 Elkwood Avenue, Asheville, NC 28804.
