William Rufus Turbyfill, Jr., 96, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019.
He was the middle son of the late William R., Sr., and Bessie Brooks Turbyfill.
A native of Buncombe Co., he served in the U.S. Army during WWII and later retired from American Enka Corp.
Bill is survived by his wife, Katherine; two special nephews and two special nieces. He is also survived by loving and caring nieces and nephews of Katherine.
The graveside service for Mr. Turbyfill will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Pisgah View Memorial Park. Pastor Karen Kurtz, Montmorenci United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Following the service, lunch will be served at 12:00 noon at Malvern Hills Presbyterian Church, 2 Bear Creek Rd., Asheville, NC 28806. All friends and family are invited to celebrate the life of Bill.
