William S. Hart, 81, of Asheville, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital. Born in Buncombe County to the late Mac and Della Weaver Hart, he worked as a veterinary assistant for 38 years with Cornwell Animal Hospital and retired after 20 years as a security guard. He is preceded in death by his wives, Joyce Hart and Geneva Hogan Hart also a grandson, Alexander Poole, and son-in-law, Dean Creson. He was a member and deacon of Oteen Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Creson and Pamela Hart (Jeff Ruby) all of Asheville; three grandchildren, April Stroupe (Stephen), Philip Connelly (Ashley) and Emilina Smith (Keil); two great grandchildren, Blair Connelly and Noah Dean Stroupe. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road. Rev. Ron Brown will officiate and burial will follow in Gashes Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The online memorial is available at grocefuneralhome.com.

  2. Cindi and Pam and your families. So sorry to hear of Bills passing. He was always such a hard working man. I remember all the years he and your mom Joyce worked with my grandfather Dr. J.I. Cornwell. My grandfather always appreciated his tireless work ethic, and their friendship. I havent seen Bill in many years, but Ill always remember how he always spoke with pride when talking about Pam and Cindi. Im so sorry for your loss.

His heart was as big as he was..I feel truly blessed to have had the honer of knowing him.The heavens have gained another angel .

  5. So sorry for your family’s great loss!! Lots of great memories of him at Oteen Babtist Church.Growing up your dad and my dad were pretty close friends. I remember all the hard work and dedication they both had for Church, family, and friends. May God give all peace, and comfort, knowing he’s walking on the shores of Heaven.
