Ada Lee Smith

Ada Lee Carland Smith, 99, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her family. Mrs. Smith was born in Buncombe County to the late Henson and Ellen Byers Carland. She was also preceded in death by her late husband, Eugene Smith and four brothers and four sisters. Ada was a beloved mother and grandmother (Myma). She attended both New Beginning Baptist Church and Holly Springs Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Barbara Holloway and Ruthel Cairnes of Horse Shoe, and Alvin Leslie (Linda) of Brevard; a very special granddaughter, Lynn Holloway of Horse Shoe; four other grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great great grandson. Ada’s family will receive friends Thursday, May 24th at Holly Springs Baptist Church, 7265 Crab Creek Road, Penrose, NC from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 25th at 11:00 AM at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. Burial will follow at Shepherd Memorial Park.
