Ada Davall Williams Paine, 93, died Saturday, January 27, 2007, at Pisgah Manor Health Care.
Mrs. Paine was a native of Buncombe County and was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Herbert and Sarah Simmons Davall, and by her husbands, Richard Williams, who died in 1941, and George F. Paine, who died in 1990. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer.
Surviving are two sons, John V.R. Williams and wife Ann of Suitland, MD and Lee Paine and wife Judy of Candler, two grandchildren, Jodi Lunsford and husband Nelson and Mark Paine and wife Robin; and three great-grandchildren, Daniel and Jennifer Lunsford and Alex Paine.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer with the Rev. Fr. Alex H. Hanks officiating.
Interment will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Monday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.

Aunt Ada was always special to me. She and Uncle George stood in as ‘honorary grandparents’ at my wedding. She used to fix me lunch on the days that Jodi couldn’t eat with her. She always made me feel special and I will miss her greatly.
Mrs.Payne was my mother Doris Willams’s neighbor at Rock Hill Place.She was a lovely lady.
