Agnes Janet Hensley Silvers

Agnes Janet Hensley Silvers, 89, died on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Mission Hospital.

A native of Yancey Co., Agnes was a daughter of the late Rollin and Nora Elkins Hensley. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Frank Silvers, son-in-law, Roy Wall, and all of her siblings.

Mrs. Silvers retired from the Buncombe Co. School System. In her freetime she enjoyed tending to her flower garden, canning, and sharing those items with her family and friends. She was also a member of West Asheville Baptist Church.

Mrs. Silvers is survived by her children, Danny Silvers (Peggy), Janet Wall, and Donny Silvers (Angelica); grandchildren, Joshua Silvers (Nicole), Jessie Taylor (Damon), Courtney Wagoner (Todd), Andrea Garland (Gary), Rob Wall, Anna Silvers, and Lilly Silvers; and great-grandchildren, William, Collin, Brenna, Jordan, Allie, Levi, Isaac, Jazlyn, Logan, and Emmie.

Her family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 on Thursday, February 29, at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Tony Hooper, West Asheville Baptist Church. A private interment will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
