Aileen E. Plemmons

AILEEN E. PLEMMONS ASHEVILLE – Aileen E. Plemmons, 87, of Starnes Cove Rd., died Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at Pisgah Manor. Born in Buncombe Co. on Aug. 8, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Charles S. and Gladys Hawkins Plemmons. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Harold C. Plemmons and one sister, Evelyn R. Plemmons. She was a charter member of Abernathy Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Sand Hill School, class of 1941, and a graduate of Mission Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1948. She retired from Buncombe County Health Department, as a public health nurse, after 32 years. She is survived a nephew, David A. Plemmons. A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tony Sayer officiating. Interment will follow in the Acton United Methodist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
