Mr. McHone was born in Henderson County and was a son of the late Joe Lynn and Irene Redden McHone. He was an Army veteran and was a member of Riverview Baptist Church. He was retired from Gerbers.
Surviving are his wife, Willie Caldwell McHone; two daughters, Linda Sue West of Asheville and Dianna Kaye Odom of Hendersonville; two sons, Albert George McHone, Jr. and Mickey Lynn McHone of Asheville; one brother, Lloyd McHone of Asheville; five grandchildren, Brent Davis, Michael Davis, Joe Brown, Stephanie Cutshaw and Phillip West; and six great-grandchildren, Brittany Cutshaw, Ashley Cutshaw, Mikayla Brown, Jon West, Zubrina West, and Lauren West.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Caldwell officiating. Burial will be at Tweeds Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joe Brown, Brent Davis, Michael Davis, Phillip West, Kevin Cutshaw and John Odom.
His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
