Albert James Johnson

Albert James Johnson, 72, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024.

A native of Buncombe Co., Albert was a son of the late David and Hazel Robinson Johnson.

Mr. Johnson worked as a supervisor at Beacon Manufacturing for over 30 years. In his free time, he loved golfing and was a member of the Skyview Golf Association.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Burton Johnson; daughters, Patricia Burton (Jackie), Sandra Lindsey (Marvin), and Jacqueline Goode (Jeffery); son, David Grant, Jr. (Tonya); brothers, Alford John Johnson (Mattie), who was his twin, and Arnold Joseph Johnson (Frances); 21 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

His family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Dr. Louis Grant. Burial will then follow at Violet Hill Cemetery.
