Aletha Cothran Lunsford

Asheville – Aletha C. Lunsford, 73, of Cheerio Lane, died Saturday, August 12, 2006. A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Pinkney and Maggie Lee Franks Cothran. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Herman Lunsford, Sr., who died in 1995, and two brothers, Clyde and Charles Cothran. Mrs. Lunsford is survived by seven children, Kathy Lunsford of Candler, Bobby Lunsford, Jr. of Asheville, Marvin and Luther Lunsford, both of Florida, Leona Burgess of Canton, Roger Lunsford of Asheville and Robin Lunsford of Florida. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren; one great grand-child; special grandchildren James and Teresa and an adopted grandson, Anthony Evans. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian conducted by the Rev. Terry Sprouse. Interment will follow in Green Hills Cemetery.
