Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Alice was an Angel on earth! I have lots of wonderful memories of Sunday school, VBS and sitting with her during church. She was a huge influence in my decision to give my life to Christ. I will forever remember her beautiful soul, sweetness and hugs! She blessed my young life more than she probably ever knew.

  2. Alice was a beloved classmate at Enka High School who touched the life of everyone she met. She was one of the most truly Christian people I have ever known and smiled through every hardship. For many years, she kept in touch with so many of us and I will smile every time I think of her. Alice, you were a shining light and you will be missed.

  3. I am sure I’ll see Alice in heaven for she always had a word about her savior. She was always happy and bubbly when I was near her. She will be missed. Well done Alice.

  4. Chip,

I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom was so special to many people. She taught Sunday School and worked with the youth at Edgewood Baptist Church where she was a big influence on me. She also cut and did my hair and was a friend to my grandmother Ethel McMahan.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

  5. Alice led me to the Lord many years ago as a young girl. She was my Sunday School teacher for many years and she was one of my Mother’s closest friends. I spent a lot of time with sweet Alice and will forever be grateful for the role she played in my life. I will see her again. She is with our Savior, no doubt about it!!

  6. Alice has been a beacon of light for so many. She was my great Aunt and also I was lucky enough to follow her footsteps of cosmetology and she taught me in school almost 15 years ago. I am grateful to have known her and learned from her. She also gave me my first perm.

  7. Alice was a huge part of my life for many years. I worked for her in the beginning of my career at the House of Hair Fashions. She was so much more to me than a boss. I was 18, just out of high school/cosmetology school and she took me under her wing. Just a few weeks ago, 45 yrs later, she laid hands on me to pray for a serious health problem I am having. A lifetime has gone by, yet Alice’s genuine walk with our Lord always brought me back to her for advice and guidance. Her light shined so very bright and continues to shine in my heart full of memories. I love you Alice! Sherry Lynn

  8. Alice was such a big part of my life for over 50 years she took me under her wings at age 21. She taught me both professionally and spiritually. I met her at Enka Beauty Salon when we worked for Reva Sayles. I worked in Alice’s Salon for most of my salon career. When she sold the salon I ventured out with Sherry with our salon. Sherry kept it on her own as I had ventured in another direction for over 30 years. We all loved her and my family was blessed to know her she touched so many. She is home now and I’m so grateful to have had her in my life. I love you Alice.

  9. I loved Ms Alice. She was like a second grandmother to me. She taught me so much about God and how to pray. She is rejoicing in heaven right now. She was a faith filled woman and touched the lives of everyone she met. I know I’ll see her again one day.

  10. I couldn’t have asked for a better Instructor. She always had a beautiful smile and just was such a sweet lady.Sorry for your loss

  11. As our next door neighbor growing up in enka… Alice and her family were special to us. When my parents moved to Haywood county, the house our dad built was purchased by Alice and Don for their son. She was always supportive of the church and our family.

  12. Oh Miss Alice, how I loved you! You were such an inspiration and a sweet friend to me. You taught me so many things. Lots of love and prayers for your family but I know you’re in heaven rejoicing ❤️

  13. I have sweet memories of Alice while in high school, cosmetology school and through the years. She truly lived her faith. The last time we spoke, she was talking about teaching and witnessing for the Lord. What a shinning example of a Christian! Love to the family.

  14. My dear friend Alice has gone to be with her Lord. I am sad for me and all those who loved her but I am happy for her. She was my very closest friend. We were friends for about 80 years. After I moved to Tennessee we still remained close. Thanks goodness for cellphones. We had long conversations at least once a week. One of my memories was my husband and I going with her and Don to be married. A marriage that lasted many years with a lot of ups and downs but always a lot of love. I will always thank Alice for being so kind to my mother in my absence. There are so many memories with her and I will miss her very much.

  15. We were so blessed to visit with Aunt Alice on Saturday evening before her sudden passing!
She was always studying her Bible and always had an encouraging word on the soon coming of our Lord! Know that she is now with her Jesus and in her new body! We will always remember Aunt Alice with love!

  17. Alice was the best neighbor anyone could ever asked for . Alice always shared her faith with all of us and especially to the all of the young kids growing up on this street ,This neighborhood will never be the same without Alice .

  18. Well mom, I see that you finally got your wish and must I say how wonderful that you look today. I am so glad to see that you finally got to go home 🏡. I have been telling you that when he was ready for you, that he would let you go home. All the times you would tell me, I would just smile and say. Mom, he’s not ready for you yet. He will let you know when it’s time. When I would come in of a morning, you would be cleaning or fixing your breakfast, always smiling, always busy but you would stop and tell me. I’m getting ready to go home. I would just smile and go on about the day. Sometimes when I would drop in just to check on you, there you would be sitting with your Bible open. I would ask you what scripture you were reading and you would smile and gladly tell me. Mom was constantly telling everyone that she was ready to go home. Well mom, God only knows (why) he called his Angle Warrior to Heaven. For all the blessings and gifts that you gave while walking this earth and all the peoples life’s that you touched. God whispered in your ear and told you that he needed you home. See mom, I told you that when he was ready for you he would bring you home. That glorious day was Sun Feb 2nd. Mom got to go home 🏡.

    • Chip, what a sweet home going memory. Alice loved everyone, but Chip, she loved you more than anything or anyone. Thinking how much she loved all of us is a memory I’ll always have! She longed for home! To be absent in the body is to present with the Lord. Anyone who knows your sweet Moma knows she is present with the Lord! Love you, brother!

  19. Alice was a wonderful grandmother and great grandmother. She had a huge heart and loved her little family so much ! She taught Lillie so much and always there for us , we will always cherish the time we had with granny Alice . She is where she always wanted to be for as long as I’ve known her . We love and miss you Alice Chad , Lillie , Renee

  20. Alice has been a sister to me since February 1984. We have shared many precious times together. We have laughed like teenage girls many times and we have prayed together every time we have been together. She is one of the most memorable people I have ever known.
I will miss knowing she is in her home reading her Bible and praying for those she dearly loved. I am sure she is happy to be in her Heavenly home with all those she loves so much and those she prayed for who finally gave their lives to God.
I love you, Alice, and thank you for all the memories.

  21. Alice was a caring , loving and Godly woman. She had a big heart always was willing to help others. She was such a wonderful warrior woman for God. Alice you meant so much to my family. You will be greatly missed here but you are in Heaven! No more pain , no more suffering, no more tears.
