Allen Howard Roberts, 76, of Alexander, died Monday, April 3, 2006, at the St. Joseph Campus, Mission Hospitals.
Mr. Roberts was born in Madison County and was a son of the late Allen E. and Ollie Payne Roberts. He was a driver for Carolina Freight Co. for 30 years and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Payne Roberts; one daughter, Janice Williams of Alexander; one son, Jeffrey A. Roberts of Alexander; one grandson, Jason F. Whitaker of Brevard. and one sister, Thelma Roberts of Marshall.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Townsend officiating.
His family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 120 Executive Park, Building 1, Asheville, NC 28801.
