Allene Smith Turner

Mrs. Turner was a native of Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Leonard Carroll and Flora Pressley Smith. She was married to Arnold Lee Turner who died in 1965, and she was retired from American Enka after 28 years service. She was a former member of Davis Chapel United Methodist Church, Candler.

Surviving are two sons, Carroll L. Turner of Morristown, TN and Newland “Lee” Turner and his wife Jonnie of Asheville; two grandchildren, Deanna Lusk and Jonathan Turner of Morristown; three great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Greta Smith of Burlington, formerly of Candler.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tueday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald N. Welborn officiating. Burial will be at Pisgah View Memorial Park.

Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Monday at the funeral home.
