Allie Gammons Southern

Allie Gammons Southern, 61, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 03, 2005, after a brief illness. A native of Surry County, NC, she was the daughter of the Zoy and Ruby Forrest Gammons of Mt. Airy. She had worked as a nursing assistant for Flesher’s Fairview Rest Home for nine years and was a member of the Albion Baptist Church in Surry County. In addition to her parents, she is survived by a daughter, Denise Mabe and husband Mitchell and a granddaughter, Kalie Mabe all of Mt. Airy; a sister, Tincy Parries of the home and two brothers, Charles Gammons of Mt. Airy and Bobby Gammons of Gilbert, SC. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. at Calvary Baptist Church in Fairview. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairview Rest Home or to Flesher’s Fairview Health Care Employee Fund, P.O. Box 1160, Fairview, NC 28730. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Fairview Rest Home, Flesher’s Health Care, Cancer Care of WNC and Dr. Donald Culver for their loving care.
