Alma Price Worley, 88, of Leicester, died on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at the CarePartners Solace Center.
A native of Madison Co., Mrs. Worley was a daughter of the late Willard and Cora Walker Price. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Ray Italy Worley. Together they raised three children and together they grieved the loss of one son, Gregg Worley, and one grandson, Brad Lee Worley. Mrs. Worley was also preceded in death by sisters Sylvia Moore, Bonnie Blankenship, and Juanita Rhymer, and brothers Jack, Paul, Gene, and Billie Price.
Mrs. Worley was a former member of Leicester United Methodist Church. She worked for American Enka and Westinghouse.
Mrs. Worley is survived by her son, Gary Worley; daughter, Gracie Silver and husband Ronnie, of Asheville; grandchildren, Mitzi Cooper and husband Doug, of Leicester, Gregory Worley and wife Lynne, of Leicester, Heidi Harper and husband Dee, of Asheville, Heather Brookshire and husband Chris, of Asheville, and Heath Silver and wife Julie, of Leicester; great-grandchildren, Tanner, Devon, Taylor, Avery, Riley, Hayes, Bradley, Shelby Lynne, Dalton, and Cody; sister Nancy Blankenship; and brother Walker Price.
The funeral service for Mrs. Worley will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. Interment will follow at Paynes Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at Groce Funeral Home thirty minutes prior to the service.
