Amnon Franklin Dean, 91, of 388 Early’s Mountain Road, Leicester, NC, died Thursday, January 2, 2003, at his residence.
A native of Laconia, NH, he was a son of the late Franklin and Lillian King Dean. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gretchen Swain Dean, who died in 2001. Mr. Dean served in WWII in the Navy as a Machinist Mate, Third Class, Ship Repair, Asiatic Pacific. He worked for Scott & Williams as a precision and tool & cutter grinder and in the Meredith Post Office as a maintenance man and was a member of the VFW Laconia Post #1670, the American Legion, Meredith Post #33, Interlakes Fifty Plus Club and the NH Humane Society. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Meredith where he served as Deacon, Trustee, Assistant Treasurer and Sexton.
Mr. Dean is survived by two daughters, Joyce Dean of Leicester, NC and Gail Laifer of Laconia, NH; two grandchildren, John Pelkey of Leicester, NC and Robin Lamprey of FL.
No services are planned at this time. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.
