Amos Daniel Foster

Amos Daniel "Dan" Foster, 82, died Friday, November 22, 2013, at St. Joseph Campus, Mission Hospital. Mr. Foster was born in Tryon and was a son of the late Amos Daniel and Jenelle Foster. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War and attended Asheville-Biltmore College (UNC-A). He retired from General Electric and he was a member of Groce United Methodist Church and the Groce Men's Club. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Gambill Foster and son Danny Foster and wife, Frankie, of Burlington. Services and interment will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with the Revs. Gerald Davis and Avery White officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Veterans Quarters, ABCCM, 30 Cumberland Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801. Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road is assisting the family.
