Amos Jackson Capps

November 10, 1902 ~ April 28, 1999

Amos Jackson Capps, 96, of 562 Sand Hill Road, Asheville, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999 at the Rickman Nursing Center of the Baptist Retirement Home.

Mr. Capps was born in Madison County, was a son of the late Julius and Matilda Buckner Capps, and was married to Lottie Lee Hall Capps, who died in 1989. He was a former employee of West Asheville Baptist Church and was a member of Sand Hill Baptist Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Hilda Griffin of Asheville; a daughter-in-law, Lucille Capps of Detroit, MI; two granddaughters and one great-grandson.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 am Saturday at Pisgah View Memorial Park with the Reverend Charles Sprouse officiating.

His family will receive friends from 7-8:30 pm Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
