Amy Davis Dills, 69, of 156 Stoney Knob Road, Weaverville, died Friday, August 3, 2007, at the John F. Keever, Jr. Hospice Solace Center. Mrs. Dills was born in Jackson County and was a daughter of the late Absalom Jarrett Davis and Ollie Wylke Davis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Claude C. Dills; a brother, Hoyatt Davis; and two sisters, Stella Palmer and Viola Davis. Mrs. Dills worked at Kellwood for a number of years. Surviving are two daughters, Kathalene Dills and Judith Dills, both of the home; four sisters, Ocie Stinnett, Lois Tipton, Vaudie Davis and Gladys Hooper; and three brothers, Dallas, A.J. and Hanley Davis. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Mr. Bryan Davis and the Rev. Kenny Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Ashelawn Gardens. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and at other times will be at the home of Marie Davis, 33 Sunset Drive, Swannanoa.
