Andy Lee Greene, 42, of Waynesville, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 after a short battle with metastatic cancer.

Andy was born in Haywood County to Jim and Bobbie Greene. He was preceded in death by his son, Blaine Lee Greene and his sister, Helen Greene.

Andy was a simple and humble servant of the Lord. He loved Jesus and his family. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, whether family, friend or stranger. Andy served on staff at Biltmore Church as a member of the operations team. He loved his church, connect group, and everyone he met. Andy always served with a smile on his face, and joy that was contagious to all. In addition to his love for Jesus and his family, Andy also had a love for the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Andy leaves behind his parents, his loving wife, Sherri Greene, who he loved unconditionally; daughter, Ashton Torrey and her husband Darrel (who was like a son) of Fletcher; daughter Jordan Cagle of Hendersonville; seven beloved grandchildren, Gaige, Riley, Baylee, Lizzy, Kynslee, Everlee and Rhett; two brothers, Larry Greene and his wife, Angela and Tony Greene and his wife, Crystal; three nephews, Joseph, Matthew and Jacob and lots of other loved extended family.

He touched the lives of everyone he met and continues to do so, even in death. He is truly loved and will be missed by all.

  14. I did not know Andy personally, I knew of him through my oldest son Tyler Hartman. They worked together at Biltmore Church. My son would tell me, he’d go talk to Andy and he’d listen, really listen to him. He thought so much of Andy and the laughs and smiles they shared. He’s heart broken, yet rejoices knowing Andy is free from pain and is with Jesus. We all are praying so hard for Andy’s family and friends. I hope they know the influence Andy made on so many people, even those he never even met. May God comfort all of you during your time of need and sorrow.
