Angie Coan Treadway, 80, of 16 Melissa Court, Asheville, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003.
A native of Union County, NC, she was a daughter of the late William Fred and Ella Cook Coan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Garfield R. “Johnny” Treadway who died in 1974; a son, William G. Treadway; a grandson, Ronald Goodwin; two brothers, Pink Coan and Jack Coan and a sister, Bernice Simpson. She was retired from the Buncombe County Health Department and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Mrs. Treadway is survived by a daughter, Judy Treadway Goodwin and her husband Robert of Leicester; a sister, Nell Williams of Monroe, NC; five grandchildren, Tommie Jenkins and her husband Rick, Bobbi VanderVeen and her husband Patrick, John Robert Goodwin, William Treadway and Judy Barranco and her husband Mike; twelve great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Ronnie Owen officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 pm Friday at the funeral home and at other times will be at the home of Judy Goodwin, 34 Golden Tree Lane, Asheville, NC 28806.

Our deepest sympathies to you and your family. ‘Nanny’ was a good neighbor and friend and we will miss her greatly.
With sincere sympathy to my second family. I love nanny like she was my very own grandma. She was a good christian example to me. I will miss her dearly.
