Anita (Thorpe) Melton, 91, of Asheville, died January 31, 2018 at Marjorie McCune Memorial Center.
Born in Peterborough, Northamptonshire, England on December 22, 1926, she was the wife of the late Eugene “Gene” Melton.
Anita was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church where she sang in the choir.
Anita is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Bielenberg and her son-in-law Warren of Maryville, TN; a half-sister, Marie Walding of Henrico, VA; a granddaughter, Heidi Pollmann and her husband Mike of Des Moines, IA; and a niece and nephew residing in Richmond, VA.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, February 17, 2018 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 290 Old Haw Creek Rd., Asheville, NC 28805.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the church at the address above.
Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road is assisting the family.
