Anna Franklin Roberts, 71, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at her residence with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Roberts was the daughter of the late Collis and Helen Norton Franklin, Sr. and had lived most of her life in Asheville, N.C. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mrs. Roberts treasured her family and was very proud of every one of them. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Carl Roberts; her brothers, Buddy Franklin and Wymon Franklin; a daughter, Faye Foulkrod; sons-in-law, Gary Aaron and Gary Dean; and a great-grandson, Andrew Aaron. Left to cherish the memories of Mrs. Roberts are her children, Mary Louise Aaron of Kathleen, GA, Darlene Brooks (Mike) of Middleburg, KY, Donna Dean of Kathleen, GA, and GYSGT Earl Roberts USMC (Gail) of Fairfax, VA; former son-in-law, Arron Foulkrod of SC; her siblings, Cora Higgins (Steve) of Alexander, NC, Joncie Lawson of Weaverville, NC, Omie Darnell of Chucky, TN, and Collis Franklin, Jr. (Joyce) of Weaverville, NC; sisters in love, Betty Jean (Ivan) Herron of Weaverville, Juanita Buckner and Carolyn Roberts; brother-in-law Donnie Roberts; several nieces and nephews, some who were as close as her children; A.J. Foell, whom she considered a grandson; 19 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. View Freewill Baptist Church on Alexander Road in Alexander, NC, where she was a member. Interment will be in the church cemetery immediately following the service. The family will visit with friends on Friday, April 15, 2016, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. At other times the family will be at the home of Juanita Buckner, 401 Martin Candler Rd., Alexander, NC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help the family with funeral expenses.

  7. Hey everybody love you all so much miss you too. You are all so wonderful and often thought of. Will always keep you in my prayers. I miss Grandma and Grandpa so much. I know they are up there together and bringing a blessing to all the little children up there. Making them feel as welcomed and loved as they made me feel always. Amen! Love you all so much.
