Mrs. Hanger was born in the Flat Creek section of Buncombe County, was a daughter of the late James H. and Molly Kate Wilder Bell, and was married to the late George R. Hanger.
She is survived by two nieces, Shirley Gray and Jean Parker and four great-nieces and nephews, Michael Gray and his wife Angie, John Parker, Suzanne Lyda and her husband Jim, and Pam Banther and her husband Ronnie.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Halipilas officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rivergarden Hebrew Home, 11401 Old St. Augustine Road, Jacksonville, FL 32258.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is in charge of the arrangements.
