Anne Catherine Baldasaro

Anne Catherine Baldasaro, 77, of Staten Island, NY, died on December 30, 2020 at Carmel Richmond Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Anne was one of triplet daughters born to George and Margaret (Duffy) Martens in the Bronx on November 15, 1943. She was raised on Putnam Lake, NY. On April 15, 1970 at Sacred Heart Church in Putnam Lake, Anne married Carl Baldasaro. She and Carl moved to Albany, NY, Carmel, NY, and Kissimmee, FL, finally settling in Asheville, NC. Anne gave selflessly of her time, raising three children, and working tirelessly at several businesses she and Carl owned over the years including a pizza parlor, a paint store and a florist shop. Later, Anne would take up residence at the Vassar-Warner Home in Poughkeepsie, NY, and then at the Carmel Richmond Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was loved by the staff at both locations for her sweet, cheery disposition and concern for others.

Anne was a devout Catholic, and her kind and caring nature touched many lives. She loved to sing, dance and write poetry. Anne was also a very talented artist. She often had a pencil in her hand and would sketch portraits of acquaintances’ family and friends asking only that they make a donation to the charity of their choice as payment.

Anne is survived by her children; Daniel Baldasaro, Maria Gentry, and Peter Baldasaro; her grandchildren, Devin, Victoria and Jessica; her brother, Peter Martens and his wife Maria of Palm Coast, FL and her sister, Peggy Salzano and her husband Jerry of Staten Island; her sister-in-law, Pat Martens of Fishkill and her brother-in-law, George Muller of Hopewell Junction; many nieces and nephews; and her best friend Jackie Rossi. She was predeceased by her husband, Carl; her sister, Sally Muller, her brother, George Martens, and her sister-in-law, Nancy Martens.
