Annie Cagle Lunsford, 93, of Asheville, died Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at Pisgah Manor. A native of Henderson County, she was a daughter of the late Malcomb and Elizabeth Fields Cagle. Mrs. Lunsford was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Willard Paul Lunsford; daughters Peggy L. Brown (Jack) of Asheville, Nell L. Keith (Harlon) of Cosby, TN, and Beth L. Cottingham (Rufus) of Dillon, SC; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Keith Hutchinson officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Freedom Baptist Church, 50 Rice Rd., Asheville, NC 28806.

We have been friends for a lot of years and even though we haven’t seen each other as often as we would have liked for various reasons doesn’t mean that we want miss her and her wonderful ‘Carrot Cake’.   5. We all are surely going to miss Annie. Her smile was always contagious, what a wonderful smile she had. Our Church lost a beautiful sister in Christ. Heaven gets sweeter as the days go by.
