Annie Lee Gasperson

Born in Weaverville and a lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Gasperson was a daughter of the late Henry Doak Banks and Ollie Elizabeth Fox Banks and the wife of the late Ernest M. Gasperson who died in 1993. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Lonie Boone and a brother, Clyde Marshall Banks.
Mrs. Gasperson was a retired employee of American Enka Corporation with twenty years service and was a member of Oak Grove Christian Church.
Mrs. Gasperson is survived by two daughters, Deana S. Gasperson of Charlotte and Shelia G. Woody and her husband, Charles, of Asheville; a son, R. Bruce Gasperson and his wife, Donna Talley Gasperson, of Ridgecrest; three sisters, Lillian Jones of Asheville, Pearl Gasperson and Bessie Mae Pinner, both of Arden; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Gasperson will be held at 2:00 PM Friday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian conducted by the Revs. John Merritt and Randy E. Melton. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening at the funeral home from 7:00 until 8:30 PM on Long Shoals Road.
